Pulling out the tweeters for woofer break-in would vent the cabinet and allow the woofer cones to move a greater distance. I’d put it in a 0. Do you already have an account? The optimum Sealed Volume for that driver is 0. You really need to do this by the math. I’ll listen more after I get the kids to nap and try to describe it better.

It is not an ideal woofer for sealed.
In a sealed box you’ll need a sub to ever be happy with it. Pulling out the tweeters for woofer break-in would vent the cabinet and allow the woofer cones to move a greater distance. What’s the inside dims of the enclosure? If the woofer output wudio too low compared to the tweeter output level, you would need to put a potentiometer on the tweeter so you could adjust it downward.
Also, how about the ohmage of both old and new woofers? I’d put it in a 0. Not really wanting to build a new box. Maybe you already didjust throwing it out there.

Is your enclosure stuffed? Did you get the polarity right when you hooked the leads to the woofer?
Actually, way too many variables. Your name or email address: What would be a more suitable driver the enclosure?
That’s a pretty small box. I’ll listen more after I get the kids to nap and try to describe it better. It could do well in a box twice the size with a port, but that doesn’t help you unless you want to build a new box. The optimum Sealed Volume for that driver is 0.

It SEEMED like a good idea……

Crossover Here’s a picture of the limited crossover: If the ohms are different, the crossover point changes. Hopefully you’ll find a driver that works properly in the size and type of enclosure you’re trying to fix.
SO instead of trying to go back to stock – I thought I’d try woofer replacement. IMO, it’s quite hard to find good drivers for sealed boxes these days. The hardest thing to do when replacing drivers on speaker models with no driver adio controls is to find drivers with output ie efficiency levels close to the original drivers.
