I could not uninstall them as when I tried to do so I’d get the same message saying and I’m paraphrasing here that the uninstall was not successful because the driver file was either either missing or corrupt or because it was possibly needed to boot the computer. That sounds more like a virtual device, and I’ve had issues with those more often than real hardware.

If your Windows XP is kept updated, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have. Thanks for marking this as the answer. My best guess is that I need to replace the hardware. Anyway – just wanted to share my experience with this issue and, more importantly, the solution that I found that worked for me.

I have uninstalled McAfee completely and ran all the clean up tools available however I can’t find a way to get rid of the drivers.
